About

Chapman State Park is a scenic campground located in northwestern Pennsylvania, adjacent to the vast Allegheny National Forest. The woodland campground features approximately 80 campsites spread across two loops, offering both modern electric sites (30 amp and 50 amp service) and non-electric options. The campground is well-equipped with modern restrooms, two shower houses, convenient water hydrants throughout, and a sanitary dump station for RVs. Beyond traditional camping, the park offers five camping cottages that sleep five people with electric heat, lights, and covered porches, plus two yurts that accommodate six people and include kitchen amenities like stovetops, microwaves, and refrigerators. Group camping is available year-round for organized youth and adult groups. The park also serves as a convenient trailhead for backpackers exploring trails on adjoining public lands. Chapman State Park centers around Chapman Dam and its scenic lake, offering excellent opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming at the beach, and picnicking. The setting provides an ideal base camp for exploring the wilderness areas of the surrounding Allegheny National Forest while enjoying the amenities of an established state park campground.
