About
Located along Tionesta Creek in Forest County, Kellettville Recreation Area offers primitive camping in a heavily forested area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features 20 non-electric sites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole. Half of Forest County is preserved as public lands, making this region one of Pennsylvania's premier areas for big game hunting and wildlife viewing. The campground sits in a culturally rich area with deep history. The Seneca Indian tribe named this region "where the water separates the land." The area provides excellent access to Tionesta Creek for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, while surrounding public lands including the Allegheny National Forest, Cook Forest State Park, and state game lands offer extensive hiking and hunting opportunities. Wildlife is abundant, with frequent sightings of white-tailed deer, wild turkey, porcupine, osprey, and opossum. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, though first-come, first-served camping is also permitted. The campground operates seasonally from mid-April through mid-December. Important to note: no potable water is available on-site, so campers must bring their own drinking water. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited throughout the area.
