Kellettville Recreation Area sits along Tionesta Creek in the rugged hills of northwestern Pennsylvania, where half of Forest County is preserved as public lands. The area takes its name from the Seneca Indian term meaning "where the water separates the land." The campground offers 19 standard nonelectric sites plus a group shelter with electric hookups, all nestled in a forested setting ideal for those seeking a quieter camping experience. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets year-round, with flush restrooms and a dump station available from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Each site features a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole. Note that no potable water is available on-site, so campers must bring their own supply. Pets are permitted. The location provides excellent access to fishing and paddling on Tionesta Creek, as well as hunting in season. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound, with white-tailed deer, porcupine, wild turkey, osprey, and opossum commonly spotted. Nearby attractions include the scenic Tionesta Creek Road drive, Allegheny National Forest, Cook Forest State Park, and state game lands.

Directions

From Pittsburgh: Take I-79 North, merge onto I-80 East (exit 116a toward Clarion) for 9.8 miles. Take PA-8 exit 29 toward Barkeyville. Turn left onto PA-8 for 16.4 miles. Turn right on US-62 and follow for 34 miles. Turn right on PA-666 for 10 miles, then turn left onto Branch Road for 0.1 miles and left at campground entrance. From Warren: Travel US-62 south 30 miles, turn left onto PA-666 for 10 miles, then turn left onto Branch Road for 0.1 miles and left at campground entrance.
