About

Minister Creek Campground is the smallest campground in Allegheny National Forest, offering six intimate family campsites along the scenic waters of Minister Creek. This primitive forest campground provides a quiet retreat for tent campers and those seeking solitude in the Pennsylvania wilds. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad. Vault toilets and hand-pumped potable water serve the campground. The campground's prime attraction is its location at the trailhead for the 6-mile Minister Creek Hiking Trail, which loops through the Minister Creek Undeveloped Area and connects to the North Country National Scenic Trail. The surrounding old-growth character forest supports diverse wildlife. Minister Creek itself offers fishing for native brook trout, and nearby Tionesta Creek provides additional angling opportunities. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Dead and downed wood may be collected for campfires. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. Campers can pay on-site or use the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature.
