About

Farnsworth Cabin is a historic stone cabin tucked away in the northwest portion of Pennsylvania's Allegheny National Forest. Built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and renovated in 2010, this two-bedroom cabin combines rustic charm with modern conveniences. The cabin features electricity, forced-air heating, indoor plumbing with hot running water, a flush toilet, and a shower. Guests also have access to wireless internet, Starlink backup, Direct TV, and a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and cooking utensils. The cabin sleeps up to 8 people with two queen beds, two sets of bunk beds, and a sofa sleeper, though it comfortably suits four to six. Outside, a fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill provide opportunities for outdoor cooking and relaxation. Guests must bring their own bedding, pillows, towels, food, dish soap, and garbage bags. The surrounding forest features black cherry, eastern hemlock, white pine, oak, maple, and birch trees. Black bear, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, bald eagle, and pileated woodpecker are common. Fishing is available in nearby Farnsworth Stream, which holds native brook trout. The Hickory Creek Wilderness Area, Chapman State Park, Allegheny River, and Tionesta Creek are all within a short distance.
