About
Potters Pond Campground is located in a high mountain valley in Upper Joe's Valley at 8,900 feet elevation, next to two scenic ponds. Pine trees and wild grasses cover the area, while aspens dot the surrounding mountainsides. The campground offers a variety of campsites including single, double, equestrian, and group sites. Most sites are shaded, and some offer views of the ponds. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. The two ponds provide excellent rainbow trout fishing and canoeing opportunities. The campground is a gateway to the expansive Arapeen OHV Trail System, which features more than 350 miles of designated, well-maintained trails suitable for all riding skill levels. Horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking are also popular activities in the area. Equestrian sites 16-19 are specifically designated for campers with horses. The campground can be reached via well-maintained dirt and gravel Miller Flat Road, providing relatively easy access for cars and RVs. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no water, electricity, or trash collection available. Visitors must bring their own water and pack out all garbage. The campground operates seasonally and is accessible when snow conditions permit.
