Lake Canyon Recreation Area occupies a broad mountain valley on the Wasatch Plateau in the Manti-La Sal National Forest, approximately 18 miles east of Fairview off Highway 31. At roughly 9,000 feet elevation, the campground sits between Huntington and Cleveland Reservoirs in a landscape of aspen and pine stands surrounded by mountain meadows filled with sagebrush and summer wildflowers. The recreation area contains approximately 50 dispersed single-family campsites available first-come, first-served, plus five reservable group sites accommodating up to 150 people and four reservable double sites. Facilities are primitive: vault toilets are provided including an accessible restroom, but there is no potable water, electricity, sewer hookups, or trash service. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all garbage. The area draws anglers to Huntington Reservoir for tiger and cutthroat trout and Cleveland Reservoir for rainbow trout. The Lake Canyon OHV Trail System provides miles of trails including beginner loops, making it accessible to riders of all skill levels. ATVs and OHVs are restricted to designated trails only. Nearby Electric Lake offers boating, water skiing, and additional fishing with a boat ramp on-site.

Directions

From Fairview, Utah, head east on Highway 31 for approximately 19 miles. The campground is 1/3 mile past Huntington Reservoir on the right, just south of Highway 31 on Miller Flat Road. From Huntington, head northwest on Highway 31 for approximately 29.5 miles; the campground is 1/2 mile past Cleveland Reservoir on the left.
