The lake offers excellent rainbow and brook trout fishing, along with non-motorized boating opportunities via a boat ramp and two floating docks. Two hiking trails originate at the campground: the mile-long Posey Overlook Trail leads to scenic views, while the Posey Spur Trail connects to the Great Western Trail for extended hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The campground features 21 individual campsites and one group site accommodating up to 35 people, all equipped with picnic tables, fire rings, and bear-proof storage boxes. Posey Lake serves as an ideal base camp for exploring southern Utah's scenic attractions. Access is via a 16-mile route from Escalante that transitions to gravel with steep sections, making it an adventure in itself. The campground is conveniently located near Hell's Backbone Road and Highway 12, providing access to Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Anasazi State Park, and Escalante Petrified Forest State Park.
