About
The Aquarius Guard Station is a historic two-room cabin built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 in Utah's Fishlake National Forest. Situated at 8,700 feet on the west side of Boulder Mountain, this former Forest Service station offers rustic accommodations for up to 4 guests inside (one double bed and one bunk bed set), with space for 16 additional campers in tents or self-contained RVs on the grounds. The cabin features a propane cook stove with oven, wood heating stove, hot water heater, and solar lighting. Basic cookware is provided but guests should bring their own linens and supplies. Potable water is available from a hand pump inside the cabin and at an outdoor hydrant during the operating season. A vault toilet, campfire circle, and picnic tables are located adjacent to the cabin. Pine Creek Reservoir lies less than a mile away offering brook trout fishing. The Great Western Trail passes alongside the station, providing access for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Boulder Mountain's 50,000+ acres of forests and lake-studded meadows offer extensive exploration, with Capitol Reef National Park on its eastern edge.
