About

Oak Creek Campground occupies a shaded canyon at 8,300 feet elevation on Boulder Mountain, part of Fishlake National Forest along the Utah Highway 12 Scenic Byway. The campground lies 19 miles south of Torrey and 17 miles north of Boulder, making it a convenient base for exploring Grand Staircase-Escalante and Capitol Reef. A dense grove of oak, maple, and cottonwood trees lines Oak Creek, providing welcome shade and a pleasant setting for fishing the creek's rainbow trout. The campground has nine sites total: eight single sites and one double site. Sites 6 through 9 are tent-only and reservable through Recreation.gov; the remaining five sites are first-come, first-served and can accommodate tents or small trailers under 20 feet. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Vault toilets and drinking water from a hand pump are available during the operating season. This is a pack-it-out facility with no trash service. No hookups or dump station. Quiet hours are enforced 10 PM to 6 AM. ATV use is restricted to arriving and departing your campsite only. No live music or sound systems permitted. Pets must remain leashed.
