About

Deer Creek Campground offers a quiet, primitive camping experience in Deer Creek Canyon within Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Located 7 miles east of Boulder along the paved Burr Trail Road, this small campground sits at 5,800 feet elevation and provides access to the eastern portion of the monument's dramatic slickrock canyons and desert landscapes. The campground has 7 sites, each with accessible parking, a fire ring with grill attachment, and a wheelchair-accessible picnic table. A shared accessible vault toilet serves the campground. Sites were redesigned in 2016 to provide accessible infrastructure and amenities. Potable water is not available, and campers must pack out all trash as the nearest dumpsters are 7 miles away in Boulder. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a $10 per night fee and 14-day stay limit. Due to site limitations, travel trailers and oversized vehicles are not permitted. Wood collection is prohibited within the campground and surrounding monument lands. Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., during which generators are not allowed.
