About
Deer Creek Campground is a small, intimate campground located in Deer Creek Canyon at 5,800 feet elevation within the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The campground sits along the scenic Burr Trail Road, about 7 miles east of Boulder, Utah. With only 7 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, it offers a quiet, primitive camping experience in a beautiful canyon setting.
The campground was redesigned in 2016 following Universal Design principles, making all seven sites accessible with features including accessible parking, picnic tables that accommodate wheelchair users, and accessible fire rings with grill attachments. The main driveway provides a firm, stable surface for accessing the shared vault toilet. Due to space limitations for parking and turning around, the campground does not accommodate travel trailers or oversized vehicles.
Campers should come prepared as potable water is not available on-site, and visitors must pack out all trash and garbage (the nearest public dumpsters are in Boulder, approximately 7 miles away). Wood collection is prohibited within the campground and surrounding Monument lands. The campground operates year-round at $10 per site per night, with a 14-day stay limit and quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
