About

Bridge Campground is a developed Forest Service facility located along the scenic waters of Hat Creek in Lassen National Forest. Situated at 4,000 feet elevation on Highway 89, the campground offers a classic mountain camping experience in a mixed coniferous forest setting. Hat Creek is renowned for its trophy trout fishing, making this an ideal base camp for anglers seeking access to some of Northern California's finest fly-fishing waters. The campground features individual sites equipped with fire rings, barbeques, and picnic tables. Day use parking provides convenient access to the Fishermen's Trail, which follows Hat Creek and offers excellent opportunities for stream fishing and wildlife observation. The Hat Creek Recreation Area is home to numerous scenic hiking trails, and nearby attractions include the Spatter Cones Trail and Subway Cave lava tube. Bridge Campground operates as a first-come, first-served facility with no advance reservations. Campers should note that no potable water is available on-site, so bringing adequate drinking water is essential. The campground is seasonally operated and typically closed during winter months due to snow.
