Pine Ridge Campground is a peaceful recreation area located within Mark Twain National Forest in Callaway County, Missouri. The campground sits in a distinctive short-leaf pine forest planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, providing a unique setting among Missouri's predominantly hardwood forests. With 8 individual campsites, this quiet campground offers an intimate camping experience for those seeking to escape the crowds. The campground serves as a popular stopping point for hikers, bikers, and equestrians using the 36-mile Cedar Creek Trail System. The trail meanders through oak-hickory forest and tallgrass prairie, with the mile-long Pine Ridge section passing directly through the recreation area and limited to foot and mountain bike use only. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and grill, and trash service is provided via a dumpster. The day-use area features a large field perfect for recreational activities and four additional picnic sites. Pine Ridge Recreation Area is accessible year-round and accommodates RVs, with two sites able to handle rigs up to 34 feet and six sites suitable for smaller RVs. The campground features accessible facilities including tables, restrooms, grills, and lantern posts. Potable water and vault toilets are available on-site. Pets are welcome on trails and must be leashed in developed areas. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system, charging $15 per night for single sites with a 50% discount available for holders of Senior or Access passes.

Directions

From New Bloomfield, head west on Route J for 1 mile. Where Route J splits with Route MM, turn right/north to stay on Route J towards Guthrie and travel for 2.7 miles. Then turn left/west onto Route Y and travel for 2.6 miles. The campground will be on your right.
