About

Dry Fork Horse Camp sits at the equestrian trailhead of the 36-mile Cedar Creek Trail in Mark Twain National Forest's Callaway County. The campground occupies a peaceful oak and cedar forest setting in central Missouri, approximately 15 miles south of Fulton. While designed primarily as an equestrian staging area, the campground welcomes all campers regardless of whether they bring horses. The facility offers 8 primitive single campsites that can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet in length. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, hitching rail for horses, and a lantern post. Centralized amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a pressurized system. A separate day-use picnic area across the road provides additional tables for small groups. The Cedar Creek Trail system accessible from this trailhead is open to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The 36-mile trail network traverses the surrounding national forest, making this an ideal basecamp for multi-day backcountry exploration.
