About

Puma Campground is one of three campgrounds at Mark Twain State Park, situated on the 18,600-acre Mark Twain Lake in northeast Missouri. The campground offers electric and premium 50-amp electric family campsites with generous spacing. Each site includes a parking pad, picnic table, grill, and lantern post. The campground is open year-round, though water and shower facilities operate seasonally from April 15 through October 31; a frost-free spigot near campsite 1 provides water access during the off-season. Facilities include vault toilets, a shower house, playground, and boat ramp for lake access. A dump station is available at the eastern end of the campground near the Highway 107 exit. The park offers excellent fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities, and is located approximately 30 minutes from Hannibal, making it a convenient base for exploring Mark Twain's birthplace and related historic sites. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks reservation system. Weekend stays require a two-night minimum, and camping is limited to 15 days within any 30-consecutive-day period. Pets are welcome with a maximum of two dogs per site, kept on leashes no longer than 10 feet.
