Puma Campground

Open — Open year-round with full reservations available through the Missouri State Parks system. During the off-season from November through April 14, potable water is available only at the frost-free spigot near campsite 1. Camping is limited to any 15 days within a 30-consecutive-day period.

Puma Campground is located within Mark Twain State Park in north-central Missouri, providing campers with access to the scenic 18,000-acre Mark Twain Lake. The campground features 37 campsites, including both basic and electric options, with some sites offering 50-amp service. Four family campsites provide extra space for larger groups. Two ADA-accessible sites ensure the campground accommodates all visitors. Additionally, six log camper cabins are located within the Puma loop, each accommodating up to four adults and two children. The campground is situated in the Salt River Hills, surrounded by oak, hickory and maple forests that host abundant wildlife including white-tailed deer and turkey. Limestone bluffs overlook the lake, offering scenic views throughout the park. Campers can enjoy hiking trails, fishing, boating, a swimming beach, and various water recreation activities. The park features multiple boat ramps and a marina for lake access. Puma Campground is fully reservable through the Missouri State Parks reservation system up to 12 months in advance. Weekend reservations require a two-night minimum stay. During the off-season from November through April 14, potable water is available at a frost-free spigot near campsite 1. The campground operates year-round, making it an excellent choice for both summer and winter camping in Missouri.
