Rock Bridge Memorial State Park Shelter is a reservable day-use facility located within Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, just minutes south of Columbia, Missouri. The park encompasses over 2,200 acres of geological preserve and recreational land, offering visitors access to some of Missouri's most popular hiking trails, cave systems, and natural features including the Devil's Icebox cave system with its natural rock bridge. The park has multiple shelter facilities available for reservation. One shelter is an accessible facility that accommodates up to 80 people with grills and extended-end tables. Another shelter (Gilbert Shelter) is an open-air structure with picnic tables that can accommodate up to 60 guests, though it has no electricity, running water, or grills. Vault toilets and trash facilities are available in nearby parking areas. Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is popular for its extensive trail system offering hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian opportunities, as well as interpretive programs and cave tours. The park's location near Columbia makes it an accessible day-trip destination for both locals and visitors exploring central Missouri's natural beauty.

Directions

From Columbia, Missouri, take Highway 163 south for approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto the park entrance road and follow signs to the Devil's Icebox parking lot. The Rockbridge Mills Shelter is located about 400 feet south of this parking area along Sinkhole Trail.
