Nestled in the Salt River Hills in northeastern Missouri, Mark Twain State Park offers six log camper cabins in the Puma Campground. These cabins provide a comfortable alternative to tent camping while maintaining a natural setting with wooded surroundings and lake views. Each cabin accommodates up to four adults and two children with a queen-size bed, full-size futon, and carpeted loft suitable for sleeping bags. The cabins feature electricity, heating, and air conditioning, along with a dining table, ceiling fan, compact refrigerator, and microwave/toaster oven. Exterior amenities include a porch bench, picnic table, pedestal grill, and campfire grill. Parking can accommodate two vehicles and a boat trailer. Guests must bring their own linens, sleeping bags, and cooking utensils. Open-flame cooking is not permitted inside cabins or on porches. A modern central restroom and showerhouse is located within walking distance during the camping on-season. During the off-season, a vault toilet is available at the Puma Loop with water at frost-free hydrants in the campground. The park's location on Mark Twain Lake provides excellent boating, fishing, and swimming opportunities. Two cabins (A and F) participate in the Cabins for Canines program, allowing up to two dogs with associated fees and rules.

Directions

Located near the main park unit, follow signs from the parking lot to reach the camper cabins area. The cabins are situated close to the park's central facilities, making them easy to access by foot.
