About

Pere Marquette State Park Campground sits within one of Illinois' most scenic parks, where the Illinois and Mississippi rivers converge at the base of dramatic limestone bluffs. The Class A camping area provides 80 reservable sites with electric hookups ranging from 20 to 50 amp service, suitable for RVs and tent campers seeking powered sites. A modern shower building, sanitary dump station, and drinking water spigots serve the campground. Beyond the main campground, primitive Class B tent sites north of the electric area offer a more rustic experience on a first-come, first-served basis. Two rent-a-cabins at sites 13 and 15 each sleep up to six and include electricity but no running water, with bathhouse access nearby. The Duncan Hill Youth Tent Camp Area accommodates organized groups at $2 per person nightly with a $20 minimum. The park surrounding the campground offers extensive recreation including hiking trails through forested bluffs, equestrian trails, a boat ramp and harbor on the Illinois River, and the Sam Vadalabene Bike Trail. The historic Pere Marquette Lodge provides dining options. Firewood is available from camp hosts at $6 per bundle, and campers must source wood locally as bringing firewood from outside Jersey County is prohibited.
