Route 66 State Park Shelters

Open

These are day-use picnic shelters only, not overnight camping. Shelters are open for reservation year-round at $70 per day. Restrooms and water are available seasonally from April 1 through October 31. Park gates close one-half hour after sunset.

About

Route 66 State Park Shelters are day-use picnic facilities, not overnight campgrounds. The park, located on the site of former Times Beach along the historic Route 66 corridor, offers two reservable shelters: Forest and Dogwood. Each shelter accommodates up to 100 people and includes electricity, with restrooms and water available nearby from April 1 through October 31. The 424-acre park features hiking and cycling trails, a boat ramp on the Meramec River, and a visitor center housed in the historic 1935 Bridgehead Inn with Route 66 exhibits. Both shelters are ADA accessible and can be reserved for $70 per day through the Missouri State Parks reservation system. Note that this is strictly a day-use facility. The park gates close one-half hour after sunset daily. For overnight camping in the area, visitors should consider nearby Robertsville State Park or private campgrounds along the Route 66 corridor.

Directions

Route 66 State Park is located approximately 1 mile east of Eureka, Missouri. From eastbound Interstate 44, take exit 265 to access the park. The visitor center is accessible from either direction at exit 266.
