About

Located within Cuivre River State Park in Lincoln County, this reservable shelter serves as a day-use facility for groups visiting one of northern Missouri's most expansive natural areas. The park spans over 6,400 acres and features more than 45 miles of trails winding through rugged terrain, including the Big Sugar Creek Wild Area and Northwoods Wild Area. The shelter provides a covered gathering point with picnic amenities, allowing visitors to enjoy the park's recreational offerings including Lake Lincoln for swimming, boating, and fishing. The park's history dates back to the 1930s when the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Project Administration constructed many of the park's original structures. Visitors can explore diverse activities from hiking and backpacking to wildlife observation and photography across the park's wild and natural landscapes.
