About
Cuivre River State Park Campground sits within one of Missouri's largest state parks, encompassing 6,393 acres of rugged, forested terrain in Lincoln County. The park's name comes from the French word for copper, reflecting the area's early mining history. The main campground operates year-round and offers a variety of site types including basic sites, electric sites with 50-amp service, and full hookup sites with sewer/electric/water connections. Eight walk-in tent sites and platform tent sites provide options for tent campers seeking a quieter experience. The campground features two loops with modern amenities. Showerhouses with flush toilets, accessible restrooms, and hot showers are available from April 15 through October 31. Vault toilets remain accessible year-round. Each campsite includes a fire ring, lantern post, and picnic table. A dump station serves RV campers, and frost-free water spigots provide potable water. A playground and amphitheater are located within the campground area. Beyond camping, Lake Lincoln offers a sand beach for swimming, boat launches for fishing and kayaking, and scenic shoreline views. Over 30 miles of hiking and backpacking trails wind through oak-hickory forest and rugged limestone bluffs. The park also maintains an equestrian campground with dedicated horse trails for campers traveling with horses.
