The campground is currently closed for the season. It opens May 15, 2026 and operates through early September. Reservations are available via ReserveAmerica up to 9 months in advance. Walk-ins are not permitted; same-day reservations must be made by 5pm.
About
Paradox Lake Campground is a New York State DEC facility located on the shore of Dark Bay on Paradox Lake in the eastern Adirondacks. The campground offers 58 tent-only sites in a wooded setting, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, recycling center, and potable water stations throughout.
Boating and fishing are major draws, with a single-lane boat launch accommodating motorboats and paddle craft. Canoes, rowboats, kayaks, and standup paddleboards are available for rent. The campground also serves as a basecamp for hikers exploring the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness, with trails leading south to Crane, Oxshoe, Crab, Putnam, and Horseshoe Ponds, as well as Pharaoh Lake and Pharaoh Mountain.
A picnic area with pavilion rental is available for day use. Pets are permitted with proof of current rabies vaccination and must remain leashed. Maximum stay is 14 nights, with a limit of 6 people and 2 vehicles per site.
