About

Osage Cove is a large campground situated along the banks of Kaw Lake in north central Oklahoma, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features 97 individual campsites with 15-amp electric hookups, as well as three group sites that can accommodate up to 50 people each. Most campsites are shaded, providing relief during Oklahoma's warm summers. Kaw Lake, completed in 1976, covers 17,000 surface acres with 168 miles of shoreline. The lake and Arkansas River below the dam are known for producing some of Oklahoma's largest catfish, as well as crappie, white bass, and walleye, making this a premier fishing destination. The campground provides excellent bank fishing access, a designated fishing dock, and a boat ramp for easy lake access. Hikers and horseback riders are attracted to the beautiful trails along the eastern shore. The Eagle View Hiking Trail extends approximately 12 miles between Osage Cove and Burbank Landing. The Five Fingers Equestrian Trail runs from Burbank Landing to the Sarge Creek Cove Public Use Area. The area also offers hunting opportunities for whitetail deer, turkey, quail, rabbit, and squirrel. During fall waterfowl seasons, Kaw Lake attracts large numbers of migrating ducks and geese, and winter visitors may spot migrating bald eagles, as Kaw Lake hosts one of Oklahoma's largest bald eagle populations. The area includes several historical sites, including Native American settlements, archeological sites, and the nearby Pioneer Woman Museum.

From Ponca City, Oklahoma, travel 9 miles east on Lake Road across Kaw Dam. Turn east on County Road and travel 2 miles to the park.
