About

Sarge Creek Campground is situated on the eastern shore of Kaw Lake in north-central Oklahoma, about 3 miles east of Kaw City. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this campground is particularly popular with equestrian campers thanks to sites 1-7 which feature horse pens and direct access to the Five Fingers Equestrian Trail running south to Burbank Landing. The campground offers 53 individual campsites across the SCRC and SEAS loops, all with 30/50-amp electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings. One group site (GS1) accommodates gatherings up to 60 people. Facilities include flush toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, playground, and a boat ramp for lake access. Kaw Lake is known for producing some of Oklahoma's largest catfish along with crappie, white bass, and walleye. During winter months, the lake hosts one of the state's largest populations of migrating bald eagles. The Eagle View Hiking Trail (12 miles) connects Osage Cove to Burbank Landing along the eastern shore.
