About

Sarge Creek Campground is situated along the banks of Kaw Lake in north central Oklahoma, offering 53 modern campsites with electric hookups in a shaded setting. The campground is particularly popular with equestrian campers, as sites 1-7 include horse pens and provide direct access to the Five Fingers Equestrian Trail, which extends from Sarge Creek to Burbank Landing. A large group campsite accommodating up to 60 guests is also available. Kaw Lake is known for excellent fishing, producing some of Oklahoma's largest catfish along with crappie, white bass, and walleye. The 17,000-acre lake with 168 miles of shoreline offers abundant recreational opportunities including boating, with a boat ramp located within the campground. Hikers can access the Eagle View Hiking Trail, a 12-mile trail running along the eastern shore between Osage Cove and Burbank Landing. During winter months, Kaw Lake attracts one of Oklahoma's largest populations of migrating bald eagles, making it an excellent destination for wildlife viewing. The area also supports hunting for whitetail deer, turkey, quail, rabbit, and squirrel, and attracts migrating waterfowl during fall seasons. The surrounding area holds numerous historical sites, including Native American settlements, archaeological sites, and the Pioneer Woman Museum.
