Bear Creek Cove Campground sits along the banks of Kaw Lake, a 17,000-acre reservoir with 168 miles of shoreline managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground features 22 campsites, all equipped with 30-amp electric and water hookups on paved back-in driveways accommodating RVs up to 40 feet. Modern amenities include flush toilets, a shower house, and a sanitary dump station. Kaw Lake is renowned for producing some of Oklahoma's largest catfish, along with crappie, white bass, and walleye. The eastern shore offers extensive trail systems including the 12-mile Eagle View Hiking Trail between Osage Cove and Burbank Landing, and the Five Fingers Equestrian Trail. Hunting opportunities include whitetail deer, turkey, quail, rabbit, and squirrel. During winter, the lake hosts one of Oklahoma's largest concentrations of migrating bald eagles. Nearby attractions include several Native American historical sites, archeological areas, and the Pioneer Woman Museum. The campground operates seasonally from April 1 through October 31 with reservations available through Recreation.gov.

Directions

From Newkirk, Oklahoma, take Peckham Road and travel east for about 8 miles, turn right on Bear Creek Road and continue south for 3 miles. Campground will be on the right.
