Ollokot Campground is located in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest along the Wild and Scenic Imnaha River, surrounded by old-growth ponderosa pine forest. The campground offers 13 standard nonelectric campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and parking area. Vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump are available seasonally. The campground serves as an ideal weekend getaway or summer destination for those wanting to fish the Imnaha River, pick wild berries, take day hikes, or explore the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway. The area sees moderate use and maintains quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Accessible campsites are available for visitors with mobility needs. Access is via Forest Road 39 (Hells Canyon Scenic Byway), which is typically closed by snow from late October through late May or early June. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov, and a self-service fee station is available on-site.

Directions

From Enterprise, Oregon, travel south on OR-82 to Joseph for about 6.5 miles. In Joseph, turn left on OR-350 and go about 8 miles to the Wallowa Loop Road. Turn right on Wallowa Loop Road (Hells Canyon Scenic Byway/Forest Road 39) and travel 31 miles to the campground entrance on the left near the Imnaha River. From Halfway, Oregon, head east 1 mile on Record Road to Highway 86, go 9 miles to Forest Road 39 towards Enterprise/Joseph, turn left and travel about 23 miles to the campground on the right before the Imnaha River crossing.
