About

Lake Fork Campground is a small, rustic campground located along North Pine Creek within the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The 10 single-unit campsites are positioned along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway (Forest Road 39), offering easy access to one of the deepest river gorges in North America. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Campers must bring their own drinking water as potable water is not available. Sites accommodate tents and smaller RVs, though specific length limits are not posted. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with some sites available for reservation through Recreation.gov. The location makes Lake Fork an ideal base camp for exploring the scenic byway and nearby trailheads. The surrounding area offers opportunities for day hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography throughout the dramatic Hells Canyon landscape.
