Lake Fork Campground
Closed — Closed for the season due to snow. The Hells Canyon Scenic Byway typically closes from late October through late May or early June and is not passable with motor vehicles. Campground operates late spring through fall when road access is available.
Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species
This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.
Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products
This Order prohibits unloading, storing, or using any straw, hay, grain, seed, or other forage or mulch products that are not state-certified weed free on the National Forest System lands, roads or trails in any Closure Area as specific in the Order.
Occupancy and Use of Wild and Scenic Snake River Wallowa-Whitman National Forest
Prohibitions on all National Forest System Lands with in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, in the State of Oregon and Idaho within a 1/4 mile of the Snake River Between Hells Canyon Dam, river mile 247.5, down stream to the Oregon-Washington boarder at river mile 176.0.

About
Lake Fork Campground is a developed Forest Service campground located along North Pine Creek on the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway (Forest Road 39) within the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. The campground operates seasonally from late May or early June through late October, when the scenic byway is passable. Access is dependent on snow conditions, as the byway typically closes from late October through late May. The campground features 11 campsites in a forested setting along the creek. Amenities include hand-pump drinking water and vault toilets. This lightly-used site attracts campers seeking a quiet base for day hiking, scenic driving along the byway, and exploring the greater Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. Sites are available first-come, first-served at $15 per night (50% discount for Interagency Senior/Access pass holders), payable by cash or check at the self-service fee station. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The campground is located approximately 0.1 miles off Forest Road 39, about 45 miles from Joseph via the scenic byway or 8 miles from Halfway via Highway 86 and Forest Road 39.
Directions
From Joseph, travel south on OR-82 for 6.5 miles; turn left on OR-350 and go 8 miles to Wallowa Loop Road. Turn right on Wallowa Loop Road (Hells Canyon Scenic Byway/Forest Road 39) and travel 45 miles to campground entrance on right. From Halfway, head east on Record Road for 1 mile to Highway 86; turn left and go 9 miles to Wallowa Loop Road (Forest Road 39). Turn left and travel 8 miles to campground entrance on left. Campground is 0.1 miles down entrance road.
