About
Fish Lake Campground is a high-elevation destination in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, nestled alongside the picturesque Fish Lake in the Wallowa Mountains. The campground provides 21 tent/trailer sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Six sites have been constructed to accommodate persons with disabilities, and six sites on the upper loop can handle RVs longer than 20 feet. The lake offers excellent fishing and boating opportunities. Due to its small size, small gas-operated or electric motor boats and non-motorized craft such as canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and float tubes are encouraged. Nearby wilderness and non-wilderness trailheads provide hiking access into the surrounding mountains. Campers should be prepared for mosquitoes and be aware that water levels in the lake can drop significantly in late summer. The approach road is mostly narrow, single-lane gravel and dirt, requiring careful driving. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
