About
Old Post Road is a well-equipped campground managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, located on the shores of Dardanelle Lake in Russellville, Arkansas. The campground sits just below Dardanelle Lock and Dam on the Arkansas River, offering 37 reservable sites with water and 50-amp electric hookups. Each site features a level paved pad, covered picnic table, and large fire ring. Perched between the Ozark and Ouachita National Forests, Dardanelle Lake spans 40,000 acres with 315 miles of shoreline. Boating and fishing are the primary draws, and a boat ramp provides convenient lake access. The river valley is a popular winter destination for bald eagle viewing. Beyond camping, the recreation area includes playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, and a mountain biking trail that starts at the campground. Group shelters are available for larger gatherings.
