About

Old Post Road campground is a well-developed recreation area on the shores of Dardanelle Lake in Russellville, Arkansas. Located between the Ozark and Ouachita National Forests, the campground provides convenient access to 40,000 acres of lake water and 315 miles of shoreline along the Arkansas River. The campground features 37 reservable sites with water and electric hookups, making it suitable for RVs and trailers. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, and a boat ramp for easy lake access. The area is particularly popular for boating and fishing, with the lake supporting a variety of sport fish. Additional amenities include eight picnic shelters, a playground, soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, and a biking trail that starts at the campground. The surrounding hardwood forests and river valley create excellent habitat for wildlife viewing and birding. The area is a favorite winter destination for bald eagles. Nearby Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge offers additional opportunities for wildlife photography and observation.
