About

Quarry Cove Campground is located on the shores of Nimrod Lake, a 3,550-acre reservoir completed in 1942 for flood control on the Fourche LaFave River. The campground features 31 modern campsites with electric hookups, including several sites with 50-amp service. Reservable sites are managed through Recreation.gov during the operating season from mid-March through October. The campground provides a swimming beach, boat ramp, playground, and a large day-use group picnic shelter. Fishing is excellent for catfish, bluegill, bass, and crappie. Boating, water skiing, and tubing are popular activities, though water skiing and tubing are restricted to areas east of Carden Point. The lake has 11 boat ramps around its perimeter. Surrounded by 21,000 acres of pristine forest land between the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains, the area provides excellent wildlife viewing and seasonal hunting opportunities. Nearby attractions include the scenic Highway 7 National Scenic Byway, Petit Jean State Park, Mount Nebo State Park, and Hot Springs National Park. The campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District.
