Carden Point

Open

Carden Point is a day-use area only. Overnight camping is not permitted. The group picnic shelter is available for day-use reservations through Recreation.gov.

About

Carden Point Day Use Park is located on the shores of Nimrod Lake, nestled between Arkansas' Ouachita and Ozark Mountains. The park offers a reservable group picnic shelter equipped with drinking water, grills, picnic tables, and electric hookups for day-use events. Additional recreational amenities include a swimming beach, playground, and horseshoe pit. Nimrod Lake provides excellent fishing opportunities for catfish, bluegill, bass, and crappie. Water skiing and tubing are permitted from Carden Point eastward toward the dam. Wildlife viewing includes white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and occasional black bear. Important: Carden Point is a day-use facility only. Overnight camping is explicitly prohibited at the group shelter. Visitors seeking overnight camping at Nimrod Lake should consider nearby campgrounds such as Carter Cove or River Road.

Directions

From Plainview, Arkansas, take Route 60 east for 5.5 miles to the Access Road, then follow signs to the park.
