Open from April through mid-December. Advance reservations via Pennsylvania's ReserveAmerica system are required to ensure campsite availability. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights from Memorial Day through Labor Day, 21 nights during the remainder of the season.

However, there is the potential for isolated locations to receive an additional 2 to 3 inches. Ohiopyle State Park is a 20,500-acre recreational destination in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania, renowned for offering some of the best whitewater boating in the eastern United States. The Youghiogheny River Gorge forms the centerpiece of the park, providing Class III-IV rapids alongside extensive trail networks including the 70-mile Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail and 27 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage. Kentuck Campground serves as the park's primary overnight facility with approximately 200 campsites. Site types range from walk-to tent sites requiring short hikes to full hookup pull-through sites capable of accommodating large RVs up to 50 feet. Every site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and parking space. Many sites feature electric hookups with 30 or 50-amp service, and select sites offer water and sewer connections. Modern shower houses and a sanitary dump station serve the campground. Five ADA-accessible campsites with electric hookups are distributed throughout the campground, with Site 248 featuring a 125-foot pull-through driveway. Additional accommodations include camping cottages, yurts, and group camping areas. Pet-friendly options are available at designated sites and cottages for an additional fee.

The park is located in Fayette County at 124 Main Street, Ohiopyle, PA 15470. The main entrance and visitor center are in the town of Ohiopyle along PA Route 381.
