About
North Sandusky Day-Use Area sits along the banks of Rend Lake in Franklin County, Illinois. This is strictly a day-use recreation area where overnight camping is prohibited. The facility features two large reservable group picnic shelters, each accommodating up to 50 guests and equipped with picnic tables, grills, and access to drinking water. Beyond the shelters, visitors can enjoy a boat ramp with dock for lake access, a fish cleaning station, playground, and disc golf course. Rend Lake itself spans over 20,000 acres and supports fishing, boating, and waterfowl hunting. The surrounding area includes deer, turkey, fox, and other wildlife. For overnight camping, visitors should look to the adjacent North Sandusky Campground, which offers 95 sites with electric hookups, showers, and flush toilets.
