Dale Miller Youth Campground sits along the southeastern banks of Rend Lake, a 20,633-acre reservoir in the heart of southern Illinois. This Army Corps of Engineers facility is specifically designed for youth groups and large gatherings, offering a comprehensive outdoor recreation experience. The campground features five cabins with open floor plans where guests can set up air mattresses or cots, nine RV campsites, and multiple tent sites, bringing total capacity to 200 guests. The facility includes a large enclosed picnic shelter equipped with electricity, tables, a fireplace, and grill, plus a private beach exclusively for campers. Recreational amenities include a playground, baseball field, basketball court, and tennis court. The surrounding woodlands of hickory, oak, and maple provide habitat for white-tailed deer, turkeys, and raccoons, while the shoreline offers excellent waterfowl viewing and bank fishing for the lake's renowned crappie population. Campers have access to the Rend Lake Bike Trail, over 20 miles of paved pathways winding through scenic woodlands with views of Rend Lake and the Big Muddy River. Additional area attractions include an archery complex with 3D trail, a dog park with swimming feature, and two public beaches. Whether for youth camps, family reunions, or organized retreats, Dale Miller Youth provides a versatile outdoor base for exploring Rend Lake's diverse recreation opportunities.

Directions

From I-57 take exit 71 and turn west onto Route 14. After 3 miles turn right on Rend City Road, then right again on Main Dam Road. Continue 3 miles to the camp entrance on the left.
