About
Dam West Area is a day-use recreation site situated along the southwestern shore of Rend Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The facility features a large picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 100 guests, equipped with tables, grills, and potable water. The area provides convenient access to water-based recreation with a boat ramp, marina, and dock all within walking distance. A playground is also available for families. The Rend Lake Project Office and Visitor Center is located across the street. This is strictly a day-use area. Overnight camping is not permitted at this location. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should look to other Rend Lake campgrounds such as South Marcum Campground.
