Nicks Lake Campground

Nicks Lake Campground is situated in the Adirondack Park near Old Forge, New York, offering 112 tent and trailer sites along a pristine 205-acre lake. The lake prohibits motorized boats, creating a serene environment perfect for paddling, fishing, and swimming at the sandy beach staffed with lifeguards during the summer season. The campground provides flush toilets and hot showers across multiple accessible shower buildings, a trailer dump station, and picnic areas. Recreational options abound with over 5 miles of hiking trails, a nature trail featuring 14 educational stations for children, volleyball and basketball courts, a softball field, and a playground. Canoe rentals are available for exploring the lake. Sites accommodate tents or one hard-wheeled camping unit plus one tent, with driveway lengths ranging from 20 to 40 feet (back-in only). No electric, water, or sewer hookups are available. Six ADA-accessible campsites and five accessible shower buildings ensure the campground welcomes visitors of varying mobility needs.

From NYS Thruway Exit 31 at Utica, take Route 12 North to Alder Creek, then Route 28 to Old Forge. Turn right at the Post Office and follow signs for 1.5 miles to 278 Bisby Road, Old Forge, NY 13420.
