About
Eighth Lake Campground sits on the southeastern shore of Eighth Lake, with some sites extending to Seventh Lake, offering classic Adirondack camping in Hamilton County. The 126 spacious, wooded sites provide privacy and direct access to excellent fishing for trout and smallmouth bass. A sandy beach with designated swimming area, boat launch ramp, and canoe/kayak rentals make this an ideal basecamp for water recreation.
Facilities include modern amenities for a state campground: flush toilets, hot showers, a trailer dump station, and a recycling center. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood and ice are available for purchase on-site. The campground accommodates RVs up to 40 feet, though sites are back-in only with driveway lengths of 20-30 feet.
The surrounding area offers hiking trails and biking opportunities, while the nearby communities of Inlet and Raquette Lake provide additional services. Reservations are handled through ReserveAmerica up to 9 months in advance, with same-day reservations available until 5pm on arrival day.
Directions
Located 6 miles east of Inlet on State Route 28. From I-87 (Adirondack Northway), take Exit 23 at Warrensburg, then Route 9 North to Route 28 West through Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, and Raquette Lake.
