About

Pixley Falls State Park is a picturesque 375-acre day-use park in Oneida County that ceased camping operations in 2010. The park's centerpiece is a spectacular 50-foot waterfall accessible via a short nature trail that winds through steep, wooded hills and along a mountain stream. The park provides access to numerous miles of trout streams, making it a popular destination for anglers pursuing mountain trout. Visitors can explore the forest on meandering nature trails that pass by Pixley Falls and follow the ruins of the 19th-century Black River Canal. A cross-country ski trail runs along the canal route, which is also part of the North Country National Scenic Trail. The park offers one pavilion available for rental from mid-May to Columbus Day that accommodates up to 48 people. The park is open year-round with limited services from November through April, when roads and parking lots may not be plowed. Hunting is permitted in designated areas during season. While camping is no longer available at Pixley Falls, nearby Delta Lake State Park offers camping facilities for visitors seeking overnight accommodations.
