MUELLER PARK

Mueller Park Group Picnic

Open

This is a day-use group picnic area with no overnight camping. The facility is open seasonally with gates operating 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sites are reservable via Recreation.gov for morning (8 a.m. to noon) or afternoon (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) time slots. Bear country protocols are in effect.

About

Mueller Park Group Picnic Area sits in a shaded canyon along Mill Creek, just 5 miles from Bountiful, Utah. The 18 reservable day-use sites accommodate groups ranging from 16 to 100 people, each equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, grills, and lean-to shelter structures. Mature maple, aspen, cottonwood, willow, pine, and fir trees provide ample shade throughout the facility. Paved roads, parking spurs, and walking paths make navigation easy, and a volleyball court adds recreation options beyond picnicking. Flush toilets and potable water are available during the open season. The area is designated bear country; visitors must store food and trash securely. Mueller Park Trail begins nearby, offering 13 miles of trail climbing through dense forests to Elephant Rock and Rudy's Flat. Hiking, mountain biking, dirt biking, and horseback riding are permitted. Kenney Creek Trail connects to the Great Western Trail, and North Park Trail links to Grandview Peak Trail and Cottonwood Gulch.

Directions

From I-15, take the Woods Cross exit. Go 0.5 miles east on 2600 South, 0.9 miles north on Orchard Drive, 1 mile east on 1800 South, then 2 miles to the park entrance. The group picnic area is 100 yards east of the locked gate at the east end of the park.
