About

Jordan Pines Group Campground sits in scenic Big Cottonwood Canyon at an elevation of 7,500 feet, offering an ideal setting for family reunions, church outings, and company picnics. The campground features four overnight group sites (capacity 100-125 people) and one day-use picnic site (capacity 50 people), all equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, and grills. A forest of pines and aspens provides shade, while panoramic views of surrounding peaks create a stunning backdrop. Roads and parking spurs are paved for easy access. The campground provides vault toilets and drinking water, with a volleyball court and horseshoe pit available for recreation. Popular activities include hiking the nearby Donut Falls Trail, mountain biking on area trails, and fly-fishing in Big Cottonwood Creek. Solitude Mountain Resort is four miles up-canyon, and Silver Lake offers additional recreational opportunities. Because Jordan Pines is located within the Salt Lake City Watershed, special regulations are strictly enforced. No pets are allowed anywhere in Big Cottonwood Canyon, including vehicles. Swimming and wading are prohibited. This group campground requires advance reservations through Recreation.gov and has a seven-day stay limit.

Directions

From I-215, take the 6200 South exit and travel one mile east to Wasatch Boulevard. Take Wasatch Boulevard one mile south to the junction with Big Cottonwood Canyon/Highway 190. Turn left and travel up Big Cottonwood Canyon 8.8 miles. Turn right on Cardiff Fork Road to reach the campground.
