About

Moose Creek Campground is a small, remote campground located in the Little Belt Mountains of Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. Situated 9 miles down Forest Service Roads 119 and 204 from Highway 89, the campground offers a peaceful setting away from the main travel corridor. The 6 campsites are nestled against Moose Creek, providing anglers the opportunity to fish in a scenic mountain setting. The campground features basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site. Potable water from a hand pump is available during the warmer months. A motorcycle trail runs west along Allan Creek to Allan Park approximately one mile north of the campground, providing additional recreation opportunities for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts. Due to the narrow forest roads and limited space, the campground can only accommodate trailers up to 20 feet in length and is not suitable for large RVs. All campsites are first-come, first-served with no reservation system. A $10 nightly fee applies, payable at the self-serve fee station. The campground operates seasonally from May through mid-fall, with exact dates varying based on snowfall conditions. A food storage order is in effect from March 1 to December 1 to prevent human-bear conflicts.
