About
Aspen Campground is located directly off Highway 89 in the Little Belt Mountains, where 6 campsites nestle in a canyon carved out by Belt Creek. This small, intimate campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. The largest site can accommodate a maximum trailer length of 22 feet, making it suitable for smaller RVs and trailers. Belt Creek provides excellent fishing opportunities for trout, though anglers must follow mandatory catch and release rules for cutthroat trout. The Belt Creek Ranger Station sits just north of the campground, and trails to the east of the ranger station connect to an extensive trail system throughout the Little Belt Mountains. Each campsite includes a fire ring or grill and picnic table. The campground provides at least one handicap accessible vault toilet and hand-pumped drinking water during warmer months. A food storage order is in effect to prevent human-bear conflicts. Leashed dogs are welcome, but horses are not allowed in the campground. Camping is limited to 16 consecutive days in one location, and a $15 per night fee is required.
