About
Grasshopper Campground sits on a scenic hillside above Grasshopper Creek in Montana's Castle Mountains, part of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. As the only developed campground in this mountain range, it offers 12 campsites just 11 miles from the town of White Sulphur Springs. The campground provides a peaceful base for exploring the surrounding forest lands. All sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations available. Each campsite includes a fire ring or grill and a picnic table. The campground has vault toilets with at least one being ADA accessible, and potable water is available from a hand pump during warmer months. The maximum trailer length is 22 feet, making this campground unsuitable for large RVs. A food storage order is in effect from March 1 through December 1 to prevent human-bear conflicts. Leashed dogs are welcome, but horses are not permitted. Hunters frequent this campground in late season as it typically remains open until early December. Above the campground is access to a motorcycle trail open December 1 through October 15.
