About
Calf Creek Cabin sits along its namesake creek in the Little Belt Mountains of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest at 5,400 feet elevation. The recently renovated cabin sleeps six guests and can accommodate up to four additional people in an RV or camper parked on site, with a strict 10-person maximum. The cabin features a wood stove for heating with firewood provided, propane lights and cooking stove, pots, pans, dishes, and electrical outlets for generator hookup. A hitching rack accommodates horses. The region offers excellent fishing in Calf Creek for mountain whitefish, cutthroat, brook, and rainbow trout. Horseback riders and hikers can explore trails north along East Fork Calf Creek to Bubbling Springs in the Tenderfoot Experimental Forest. Hunting and OHV trails are abundant in the surrounding forest. Winter recreation includes cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Guests must bring their own water, food, toilet paper, flashlights, bedding, towels, and cleaning supplies. Mandatory food storage is required due to bear activity in the area. Pets are not allowed inside the cabin but may be kept outside on a six-foot leash or in a kennel.
