About
Mill Creek Day Use is a day-use recreation area located on Berlin Lake in Mahoning County, Ohio, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This is not a campground; overnight camping is explicitly prohibited. The facility is designed for day visitors who want to enjoy the lakeside setting for picnicking, fishing, or other daytime activities. The area features a group picnic shelter that accommodates up to 64 people, a children's playground, flush toilets, and drinking water. During the recreation season, the shelter can be reserved; otherwise it is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should look to the adjacent Mill Creek Campground, a separate USACE facility with nearly 300 campsites. Berlin Lake covers 3,590 acres with 70 miles of shoreline and is renowned for excellent walleye fishing, with natural reproduction of the species occurring in the lake. Anglers also find largemouth and smallmouth bass, muskie, crappie, and bluegill.
