Mill Creek Day Use Park is situated on Berlin Lake in northeastern Ohio, where the Mahoning River creates a 3,590-acre lake with 70 miles of shoreline. The day-use area offers one group picnic shelter that accommodates up to 64 people and can be reserved during the recreation season. Flush toilets, drinking water, and a children's playground are provided on-site. Berlin Lake is one of the few area lakes where natural reproduction of walleye occurs, making it a premier fishing destination. Anglers also target largemouth and smallmouth bass, muskie, crappie, and bluegill. Boating and swimming are popular activities, though there is no designated beach or lifeguard. The gently to moderately sloped banks provide easy lake access. The area features beech and maple trees providing shade and beautiful fall color. Wildlife viewing opportunities include nesting ospreys and occasionally bald eagles. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources manages over 6,800 acres of project lands surrounding the lake for public hunting and wildlife management, with abundant small game species. Adjacent Mill Creek Campground offers overnight camping options.

Directions

Take Exit 54 off I-76 and head south 5.5 miles on State Route 534 to U.S. Route 224 in Berlin Center. Take U.S. Route 224 west about 2 miles to Bedell Road. Go south on Bedell Road about 3/4 of a mile to Mill Creek Day Use Area.
