Wingfoot Lake State Park Campground provides a peaceful escape just 20 minutes from Akron in Portage County, Ohio. The campground features 103 spacious campsites offering a nice mix of sun and shade, with many sites providing electric hookups and some offering full hookups for RVs. Campers can choose between sites near the lake or nestled in the woods. The park's campground amenities include modern restrooms with showers, a dump station, and a camp store stocked with camping supplies and groceries. Beyond the main campground, visitors seeking a more primitive experience can access 10 walk-in or bike-in sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring but no hookups. A group camping area accommodating up to 50 people is also available. The 680-acre park surrounds Wingfoot Lake and offers excellent recreational opportunities including a public beach with changing facilities, boat launch with kayak and canoe rentals, fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, and crappie, and paved trails perfect for hiking and biking. The 2.5-mile Wingfoot Lake Trail provides scenic views around the lake. The park is pet-friendly and visitors can spot the historic Goodyear Blimp hangar across the lake, a unique landmark that adds to the park's charm.

Directions

From Akron, take I-76 east to Exit 29 for OH-532 toward Mogadore. Turn right onto OH-532 S/Cleveland Ave, then left onto Waterloo Rd. After approximately 2 miles, turn right onto Goodyear Park Blvd to reach the park entrance.
