Guilford Lake State Park Campground is situated on the serene 396-acre Guilford Lake in northeastern Ohio, originally constructed in the 1830s as a canal feeder on the west fork of Little Beaver Creek. The park's gentle rolling terrain provides a peaceful escape for campers year-round. The campground offers a mix of electric and non-electric sites suitable for RVs and trailers, as well as designated tent-only sites. The lake is a popular destination for fishing and boating, with a 10-horsepower limit creating a tranquil atmosphere. Park amenities include a swimming beach, playground, hiking trails, boat launch, and kayak rentals. The campground is well-maintained and particularly popular with families seeking a quiet outdoor experience. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with flush toilets and trash service available. The park is currently undergoing a significant dam rehabilitation project that began in fall 2025, with the water level drawn down 21 feet as of November 2025. Despite the construction, the campground remains operational for camping. The project is expected to continue through spring 2027, improving the safety and longevity of this historic lake.
