Mill Creek Recreation Area sits on Berlin Lake in northeastern Ohio, offering 295 campsites that range from shaded waterfront sites to sunny open areas. The campground is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and provides diverse camping experiences on the Mahoning River reservoir. Over 100 sites include electric hookups, and the facility features modern amenities including flush restrooms, hot showers, and a dump station. Berlin Lake covers 3,590 acres with 70 miles of gently sloped shoreline surrounded by beech and maple forests. The lake is renowned for its natural walleye reproduction, making it one of the premier walleye fishing destinations in the region. Anglers also target largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, muskie, crappie, and bluegill. The campground includes a boat ramp, and the lake is popular for swimming and water skiing. The surrounding 6,800 acres of project lands are managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for public hunting and wildlife viewing. Visitors frequently observe nesting ospreys and occasionally spot bald eagles. The campground offers playgrounds, volleyball courts, and easy access to hiking and biking opportunities around the lake.

Directions

From I-76, take Exit 54 and go south 5.5 miles on State Route 534 to U.S. Route 224 in Berlin Center. Turn right (west) onto U.S. Route 224 and go about 2 miles to Bedell Road. Turn left (south) on Bedell Road and go about 3/4 of a mile to the campground.
