West Branch State Park Group Campground is located within the larger family campground at West Branch State Park in Portage County, Ohio. The campground sits on the shores of the 2,650-acre Michael J. Kirwan Reservoir, offering groups access to swimming beaches, boat launches, and extensive hiking trails including a spur connecting to the Buckeye Trail. Three group sites accommodate organized camping groups. Each site comes equipped with six picnic tables, two fire rings, a charcoal grill, and multiple lantern hooks. Group Sites A and B feature electric service with 20-, 30-, and 50-amp outlets, while Group Site C is a primitive non-electric site. All group sites are positioned within 100 yards of the main heated restroom facilities, which include flush toilets, showers, and coin-operated laundry. The campground operates year-round with seasonal variations in services. From April through October, full amenities are available. During the off-peak season (November 1 through April 1), only portable restrooms are provided with no potable water, though the group sites remain open. A dump station, camp store selling firewood and supplies, and equipment loan program for registered campers enhance the camping experience. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance through ReserveOhio.
