West Branch State Park Shelters are day-use picnic facilities, not overnight camping accommodations. The park features six picnic shelters scattered around Michael J. Kirwan Lake, with four available for advance reservation. Each main pavilion measures approximately 30' x 20' and accommodates eight picnic tables, with charcoal grills located nearby for cookouts and gatherings. The shelters are positioned within 100 yards of restroom facilities and provide scenic lake views with direct fishing access. These day-use facilities are ideal for family reunions, birthday parties, company picnics, and other group gatherings. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance through Reserve Ohio or by calling the reservation center. For those seeking overnight accommodations, the adjacent West Branch State Park Campground offers over 200 campsites with various amenities including electric and full hookup sites, showers, and a dump station. The shelters themselves are strictly day-use facilities with no overnight camping permitted.

From Ravenna, Ohio, take State Route 5 east for approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto Esworthy Road and continue for about 1 mile to reach the park entrance.
