About
McBride Campground is a small, primitive campground located along Brooks Ditch within the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The 10-site campground sits beneath a canopy of mixed pine and fir trees, providing ample shade throughout the day. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and parking space. The campground has vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must bring an adequate water supply. The campground is popular with local campers during summer months and draws berry pickers in season. In autumn, it serves as a base camp for hunters. Access requires navigating Forest Road 7710, which includes sections of single-lane steep gravel road. The campground operates on a self-service fee system at $10 per night, with reservations available through Recreation.gov. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Pets are permitted but must remain leashed at all times while in the campground.
